The East Pioneer Mountains are located in southern Montana, just north of Dillion. Originally home to the Shoshone, Bannock, Salish, and Kootenai tribes, much like the western pioneer mountains, this makes the land and the mountains special to the tribes that used to inhabit the area. The highest peak in this range is the tweedy mountain, sitting at an elevation on 11,154 ft!
