Vandana was started in 1908 as a railroad stop, for the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul, and Pacific Railroad. This stop was made specifically as a water stop, which means they but in a reservoir to make sure they would have enough water. This town had homesteaders, and they tried to use the land for agriculture, but that didn’t work and they left in the 1920’s. Then in the 1980’s the railroad left the area too, leaving this town empty.
